Materials

  • Duct tape
  • Scissors
  • Plastic bags
  • Socks
  • Cardstock
  • Marker or pen

Deconstructing a Shoe

Do you have an old and worn-out running shoe lying around? Instead of throwing it away, try doing some deconstruction.

Step 1: With the help of an adult, carefully take the shoe apart piece by piece (see diagram)

Step 2: Examine each piece. You may use a magnifying glass. What is it made of? How are the pieces attached?

Step 3: Clean up.
