Alexander Duncan emigrated from Scotland in 1866. After hearing that Wellsville needed a shoemaker, he and his family settled in Cache Valley where he rain a shoe repair shop.

These tack boxes belonged to Charles Hills Baker (1845-1929). Tacks are used to attach and secure shoe heels and soles.

Made by Belcher Bros. and Co. of New York. A foot rule is used to measure feet to determine shoe size. The small wooden wedge piece glides up and down to measure the foot.

These buttons were made and mounted by Henry Worley (1827-1924), an early Cache Valley settler. 19th-century shoe and clothing buttons were made of porcelain or ceramic and covered with cloth.
